Success Stories: USCIS Approves EB-1A Petition within 10 Days for Scientist in Austria in the Field of Geophysics

Client’s Testimonial:

“Thank you very much for the good news and your professional work throughout the entire process.”

On March 7th, 2016, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Scientist in the Field of Geophysics (Approval Notice).

General Field: Geophysics

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Geophysicist

Country of Origin: Austria

Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: N/A

Approval Notice Date: March 7th, 2016

Processing Time: 10 Days (Premium Processing Requested)

Case Summary:

This EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) case involved a geophysicist from Austria. North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) was hired to help him attain a green card and as soon as an attorney-client relationship arose, we got to work.

Premium Processing:

Our client elected to file his EB-1A petition under Premium Processing (PP). Although the USICS charges an additional $1,225 more for this service, it offers a major perk: rapid adjudication. Instead of waiting 4-9 months for the USCIS to make a decision, petitioners only have to wait up to 15 days. In this case, our client waited 10 days for an approval notice.

EB-1A Petition Approval:

Our legal team worked diligently to compile as much information as we could on our client’s various professional and scholarly triumphs: the nearly 500 citations to his work, the 10 times he conducted peer reviews, and his 24 published scientific articles. Furthermore, we carefully detailed our client’s studies on the near-and sub-surface structure of the Earth, and determined that his findings are important to climate change efforts at home and abroad. We also proved that they benefit the global energy industry, fellow geophysicists, and the United States as a whole.

To further strengthen our EB-1A petition, we included recommendation letters provided by other expert geophysicists. Their letters furnished the USCIS with further proof that our client’s work is essential to the progress of the field of geophysics. For instance, one of our client’s recommenders wrote, “. . . I hope that by the end of this letter it is clear that [Cient’s] future research is vital for the field of geophysics. Just as past breakthroughs have relied on his contributions, future advancements will depend on his continuing contributions.”

Immigrant Visa Processing (IVP):

As our client is currently residing outside the United States, he can now apply for an immigrant visa at an American consulate or embassy. Known as immigrant visa processing, this is the final step towards a green card for petitioners living abroad. Once this visa is approved, our client may enter the United States as a permanent resident and his green card will be mailed to his American address. We congratulate our client on his EB1A petition approval and thank him for selecting our firm to help him attain it.
