Case Summary:

North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) recently had the pleasure of working with a talented research associate from India. Our client engaged our services to help him and his spouse attain American permanent residency. Our attorneys and support staff worked diligently to put together a strong EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition packet that brought attention to our client’s copious professional successes.

Amongst other things, our EB-1A petition dossier contained data on our client’s citation count, his publication record, and his peer review experience. At the time of filing, these numbers stood at 256 citations, 12 published articles, and 18 instances of peer review service. We used these figures to demonstrate that our client’s insights are greatly valued by other biochemists, and that they advance the work of other experts in the field.

To further fortify our EB-1A presentation, we urged our client to connect with several other influential experts in his field and request for recommendation letters. We made sure that these experts were familiar with our client’s work (whether personally or via his published papers). Our client did not let us down, and returned with five signed recommendation letters that shed light on his strengths. Here are some of the things our client’s recommenders had to say in support of his EB-1A petition:

  • “[Client] is not only changing the landscape of biochemistry, he is edging us ever closer to novel treatments of cancer, ciliopathies, and congenital abnormalities. For these reasons, I urge the United States to grant him the necessary permissions to continue his work. It is in the best interest of both the nation and the field of biochemistry for [Client] to remain in this field.”
  • “Knowing the vast implications of his work, I must advise that [Client] be permitted to continue his research. His work is at the cusp of biochemistry research, and it is tantamount to the long-term success of the field.”
  • “Discontinuation of his [Client’s] research threatens the United States’ ability to fight deadly diseases and explore the functions of the human body. In addition, it eliminates one of the most brilliant minds in biochemistry from the nation’s scientific workforce. In order for the United States to remain a potent source of biochemistry research, [Client’s] research must not be impeded.”

Although it took us several months to put together a strong EB-1A case, our client received an approval notice merely six days after we filed it. This is largely due to Premium Processing (PP): the USCIS must take action on PP cases within 15 days instead of 4-9 months. Our client recently chose to retain our services to help him prepare and submit I-485 applications for himself and his wife. We thank him for trusting us to lead him all the way to the green card finish line.
