Case Summary:

A chemical engineer from China approached North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) for help with her EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition. Our client, who has extensive experience working in the field of applied chemistry, hired us because she knew of our stellar approval rates and wanted to give herself the best chance of getting a green card. The USCIS only spent 6 days adjudicating her case before granting their approval. Although this is largely thanks to Premium Processing, we are sure that our careful presentation of our client’s strong credentials lent a hand in case approval.

Obtaining a petition approval:

We were hired to compile and submit a convincing EB-1A petition for our client, and we did just that. The petition dossier was partly composed of the following: her citation count, publication record, and peer review experience. When we filed the case, our client’s work had gathered nearly 400 citations, she had published 9 scientific articles, and she had conducted 40 peer reviews. Her impressive achievements stemmed from her years of experience researching new chemical compounds and their practical applications. Based on her accomplishments, we demonstrated to the USCIS that our client’s work impacts the American chemical industry as it improves knowledge on how to synthesize useful chemical compounds and harness their specialized properties.

Although we had a strong case, we wanted to make it airtight and thus, we prompted our client to obtain recommendation letters from other chemists. We helped her select these recommenders by making sure that they were either familiar with her research through her publications or had worked with her. All five experts whom our client approached agreed to sign recommendation letters that confirmed the value of her work to the United States. Here are a couple of sample quotes:

  • “The widespread implementation of [Client’s] work by other scientists, combined with her other notable accomplishments, clearly places her within the upper echelons of the field. I look forward to witnessing [Client’s] future research developments, and I am certain that her work will continue to incur substantial benefits for the United States in the years to come.”
  • “As her striking record of citation, repeated success in research ventures, and recurring invitation to participate in peer review are all laudable records of achievement for any researcher in the field, I am assured that [Client] is one of our foremost experts in the field.”

Final step towards a green card:

We are pleased that our client effortlessly overcame this significant hurdle in the green card process. Now, all that stands between her and permanent residency is the I-485 application, which we recently filed for her and her spouse. We join them as they await a positive outcome from the USCIS. In the meantime, we wish our client the best as she continues to advance the field of applied chemistry.
