Case Summary:
Exactly two weeks after we filed an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition in the name of a postdoctoral research associate from India, the USCIS took action on his case and granted their approval. Our client, an expert immersed in the field of petroleum engineering, has churned out research results that have proven to be significant for the United States. As an example, his investigations on crude oil component address some of our nation’s most pressing issues in understanding the behavior of crude oil components, which leads to more efficient extraction of petroleum, a critical non-renewable resource that has an impact on the national economy, transportation, and the environment.
Premium Processing (PP):
The reason our client’s EB-1A petition was adjudicated so quickly was because he elected to file it under PP. This is an additional service offered by the USCIS that allows petitioners to have action taken on their cases within 15 calendar days. By paying an extra $1,225 and submitting an I-907 form, our client enjoyed the luxury of having his case processed in just 14 days. Despite the hefty price tag, PP is an excellent option for petitioners who cannot, or do not want to, wait the 4-9 months that it usually takes the USCIS to process I-140 petitions. The fact that the USCIS did not issue a Request for Evidence (RFE) was another feather in our cap.
