Case Summary:

Just 28 days after we filed an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on behalf of a postdoctoral scholar from Nepal, Texas Service Center approved his case. We are pleased that they adjudicated our client’s petition so quickly (it usually takes them between 4-9 months) and we have no doubt that our meticulous presentation of our client’s strong credentials lent a hand in case approval.

What did we do to prove our client deserved the national interest waiver?

With an M.Sc. in Botany and a Ph.D. in Microbiology, we proved that our client possesses the skills and knowledge demanded of a top-tier researcher. We determined that his work in the field of microbiology is focused on the development of novel antibacterial and antifungal agents for use in treating both plant food crops and humans. Based on that, we demonstrated to the USCIS that his research results directly contribute to the U.S. healthcare and agricultural industries, by sustaining and even improving the capacity of healthcare providers and farmers to safely treat or manage dangerous bacterial and fungal infections. Additionally, his research on combinatorial antifungal treatments using azoles is contributing to United States’ agribusiness and to the safety of the food supply, as the superior performance of such traditional crop treatments is restored.

Not only did we highlight the significance of our client’s research projects to the US, we also noted the benefits that his work offers to other researchers around the world. Using his citation count and publication record, we proved that other researchers are using his work to progress the field of microbiology as a whole—at the time of filing, our client’s work had gathered 83 citations and he had published 14 articles. We also fortified our client’s EB-2 NIW petition packet by including five recommendation letters volunteered by his peers. According to one of them: “The diversity and range of [Client’s] competency would, in fact, be very difficult to replace, and I am certain that forward progress in microbiology and drug discovery would be grievously slowed if his work were interrupted. On these grounds, I strongly urge the continuation of his research efforts unimpeded.”

We congratulate our client for obtaining the national interest waiver and we thank him for choosing to work with North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com).
