Success Stories: EB-1A Petition Speedily Approved within 10 days for a California-based Research Associate in the field of Polymer Science

Client’s Testimonial:

I was so pleased with your service. May I continue to work out with you for my 485 case?

On February 6th, 2017, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Research Associate in the Field of Polymer Science (Approval Notice).

General Field: Polymer Science

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Associate

Country of Origin: China

Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: California

Approval Notice Date: February 6th, 2017

Processing Time: 10 days (Premium Processing)

Case Summary:

Merely 10 days after filing, a research associate working in the field of polymer science received the good news that his EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition had been approved. The rapid adjudication and approval period was on account of the Premium Processing (PP) service our client had opted for. PP is a paid option offered by the USCIS that allows petitioners to have action taken on their cases within 15 calendar days (it usually takes them between 3-9 months).

With a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and numerous accolades earned from his specialized research on reinforcement of elastic materials and nanomaterials for bio-applications, our client was a suitable candidate for EB-1A. Before we initiated the attorney-client relationship, we carefully reviewed his credentials to be sure that he met at least three out of the 10 EB-1A requirements set by the USCIS. These are the three areas we chose to focus on:

  1. Publication Record: When we filed his case, our client had 17 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 4 conference papers under his authorship.
  2. Citation Count: Our client’s work had amassed an impressive 214 citations at the time of filing. This number proved that researchers around the world are benefitting from his research and collectively progressing the field as a whole.
  3. Peer Review Experience: Our client had already conducted 85 peer reviews for a variety of high-impact scientific journals. As only leaders in the field are invited to judge the work of their peers, our client’s impressive record of peer reviews proved to the USCIS that he is a leader in the field.

Besides proving that our client met the three requirements mentioned above, we also detailed our client’s research on developing materials that are more resistant to fatigue and more apt to mechanical recovery and mechanical healing. This is of utmost significance to the United States since it leads to clinical applications for disease prevention and treatment, the creation of electrochemical biosensors for bimolecular and environmental detection, and improvements to 3D printing and related manufacturing. We also incorporated recommendation letters volunteered by six other illustrious experts in the field. According to one of them: It is without question, therefore, that [Client’s] research uniquely benefits the United States, and the country would be disadvantaged by his absence. [Client] is a resourceful researcher who consistently overcomes methodological limitations to nanomaterials research…”

We congratulate our client as he celebrates his EB-1A petition approval, and we thank him for retaining our law firm to help him and his dependent file I-485 applications. We are currently putting together the applications and in the meantime, the team at North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) wishes our client the best as he continues to progress in the field of polymer science here in the United States.
