Client’s Testimonial:

“Thank you very much for your confirmation. I am deeply thankful for your help with my EB1A case.”

On September 19th, 2016, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Research Scientist in the Field of Polymer Science (Approval Notice).

General Field: Polymer Science

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Scientist

Country of Origin: India

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Tennessee

Approval Notice Date: September 19th, 2016

Processing Time: 13 Days (Premium Processing Requested)

Case Summary:

Less than 2 weeks after North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) filed an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition on behalf of a research scientist from India, the USCIS approved his case. It generally takes them between 4-9 months to adjudicate I-140 petitions and the reason our client only waited 13 days is because he opted for Premium Processing (PP).

What is PP?

PP is a paid option offered by the USCIS for certain visa categories such as EB-1A. Although petitioners have to pay the USCIS an additional $1, 225, they will have action taken on their petitions within 15 calendar days. This is an excellent option for those who are unwilling or unable to wait up to 9 months for the USCIS to make a decision. In this case, our client only waited 13 days before receiving notification of case approval.

What did the EB-1A petition entail?

It was our job to present our client’s various achievements to the USCIS and we did this by detailing his 19 publications, the 158 citations gathered from his work, and the over two dozen times he assessed the work of his peers. Based on these numbers, we were able to prove to the USCIS that our client’s research results are exceptional and of extreme importance to other researchers who collectively, are progressing the field of polymer science.

To back up our claims, we incorporated six recommendation letters into our client’s petition packet. These letters were contributed by other influential members of the polymer science research community and according to one of them, our client’s research has “…provided for the industries and scientists in the United States, [Client’s] ongoing research in your nation is of the utmost importance. Beyond any doubt, his ongoing work will continue to contribute to the United States’ manufacturing and industrial objectives.

It took us several months to put together a strong petition packet for our client and we made sure to highlight his complex work on novel polymeric architectures, thermoplastic elastomers and polymeric composite materials. We are pleased that the USCIS approved our client’ EB1A petition, and we wish him the best as he files an I-485 application to adjust his status for permanent residence.
