Case Summary:

A Chinese postdoctoral fellow engaged in proteomics research hired North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) to help him obtain I-140 EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval. As the first step in the two-part green card process, an approved I-140 would help him move closer to permanent residency in the United States. Working out of Maryland and holding a doctoral degree in biological sciences, our client’s impressive credentials assured us that we could steer his case to a successful ending. We countersigned the retainer agreement after confirming that he met at least 3 out of the 10 EB1A requirements set by the USCIS:

  1. Published Work in Major Media: At the time of filing, our client had already published 19 peer-reviewed scientific articles in prominent scientific journals.
  2. Recognition in the Field: Our client’s published work had already garnered an impressive 189 citations when we filed his case.
  3. Peer Review Experience: We were also able to prove to the USCIS that our client had been invited to judge the work of his peers at least 21 times. This criterion asserted his high standing amongst other proteomics experts.

As part of our services, we compiled a thorough presentation of our client’s productive research record on glycosylated proteins. By investigating these proteins, our client has elucidated new cures and developed novel vaccines against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), as well as established early detection mechanisms for cancer and cardiovascular disease. His persistent research efforts aid the development of applications towards new disease and viral treatments in the United States. We highlighted to the USCIS that our client’s findings will provide a significant impetus to the field of proteomics should he be allowed to continue his work in the country.

Recommendation letters and testimonials incorporated into petition packets are often the best way to convince the USCIS of our clients’ worth to the nation. Based on our suggestions, our client collected 6 such recommendation letters from other experts. An excerpt from one of the recommendation letters is as follows: “As a result of his myriad accomplishments, [Client] has risen to one of the topmost positions in his field. He has refined the fundamental understanding of glycoproteins and their role in various chronic diseases, and it is clear that he will continue to complete successful and relevant research projects for many years to come.”

Collectively, the recommendation letters and evidence which we presented to the USCIS proved beyond a doubt that our client is a frontrunner in the field of proteomics as well as an asset to the American scientific community.

Our client’s decision to opt for Premium Processing (PP) led to action being taken on his EB1A case just 10 days after filing. We are happy for him and wish him the very best in his future endeavors in the field of proteomics.
