General Field: Neurology

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Associate Scientist

Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Arizona

Approval Notice Date: March 14th, 2017

Processing Time: 8 Days (Premium Processing Requested)

Case Summary:

An associate scientist from India approached North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) for help with an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition. Merely 8 days after we filed the case on his behalf, the USCIS approved it. The reason why our client did not have to wait the expected 4-9 months is because he paid the USCIS an additional $1,225 to file his case with Premium Processing (PP). By doing so, the USCIS guaranteed that action would be taken within 15 calendar days.

We spent months gathering a wealth of information related to our client’s professional career in the field of neurology. Amongst other things, we focused on the 624 citations gathered from his 17 publications as well as the 20 times he judged the work of his peers. Not just that, we reviewed his research on using neuroimaging to learn about the biology underlying mental disorders. We established that his research addresses some of the United States’ most pressing issues in understanding neurological and psychiatric illness.

In support of our client’s EB1A petition, four of his peers contributed recommendation letters. These letters contained an array of information regarding our client’s research as well as reasons why he should be allowed to continue his work in the US. According to one of these recommenders, our client “is an indispensable member of the field, having yielded numerous impressive insights into several common mental disorders. Without his singular contributions, the community of his peers in neurological research would be at a considerable disadvantage.” Another recommender stated: “[Client] is one of the most talented individuals in this field and, as such, he should certainly be supported in every way necessary to retain him in the country.”

We congratulate our client for securing EB1A petition approval, and we thank him for retaining our services to help him and his dependent with their I-485 applications. As the final step in the green card process, approval means permanent residence. As we wait for the USCIS to take action on their applications, we wish our client well as he continues to advance the field of neurology.
