The client that we had the pleasure of working with in this case was a postdoctoral research fellow from India in the field of computational and statistical genetics, a major discipline in computational biology. His research had primarily focused on invention of computational and statistical methods for the analysis and understanding of how genes in an organism interact with one another and also with environmental factors external to the organism leading to complex observable characteristics (phenotypes) and diseases.  His work had resulted in at least 16 peer-reviewed scientific articles and, at the time that his case was filed, his publications had accumulated at least 281 citations, clearly demonstrating that he had influenced his field and garnered international acclaim.  In addition, he had conducted 15 paper reviews for journals related to the fields of genetics, genomics, and computational biology and was a member of the editorial board for a journal.
