Client’s Testimonial:

“Thanks a lot for the message. I am so happy to know it is approved.”

On March 24th, 2016, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Research Specialist in the Field of Neurobiology (Approval Notice).

General Field: Neurobiology

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Specialist

Country of Origin: China

Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: California

Approval Notice Date: March 24th, 2016

Processing Time: 30 Days (Premium Processing Requested)

Case Summary:

A gifted research specialist from China needed North America Immigration Law Group’s help to put together and file an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition on his behalf. Our client’s doctoral degree and extensive experience in the field of neurobiology made him a suitable candidate for EB-1A.

Once we had established an attorney-client relationship, we advised our client to reach out to fellow neurobiologists and ask them for recommendation letters. We needed our client’s peers to verify the value of his work to the field, and to confirm that our client is an irreplaceable presence in the United States. Our client managed to obtain six signed testimonials, all of which contained statements akin to this excerpt: “Only the top scientists are able to produce research of this magnitude on a consistent basis. It is the duty of scientific leaders to approach their research with originality and progressiveness. After reviewing [Client’s] research, I can attest to both the originality and progressiveness of his work. He is unmistakably among the most prominent scientists today and has conducted exemplary research throughout his career. He has surpassed the standards set forth by his field, and I anticipate continued excellence from [Client] moving forward. As a leading publisher of neurobiological research, [Client’s] absence would cause irreparable harm to modern medicine.”

Besides recommendation letters, our EB-1A petition packet detailed our client’s research on the molecular and cellular mechanisms behind hormone release, excitatory and inhibitory imbalances causing neurological diseases, developing optogenetic tools, and studying mechanisms responsible for vesicle release in neurons. By carefully reviewing our client’s work, we were able to summarize that his findings deepen the American medical community’s understanding of neurological diseases and subsequent treatment options. We also noted the 22 times our client conducted peer reviews for various scientific journals, his 8 published papers, and the 184 citations to his work.

Case Approval:

15 days after we submitted the EB-1A petition on our client’s behalf, he decided to upgrade his case to Premium Processing (PP). By paying an additional $1,225 to the USCIS, petitioners get to enjoy accelerated adjudication (within 15 days instead of 4-9 months). Exactly 15 days after the upgrade, our client received an approval notice from the USCIS. We join our client as he celebrates this happy occasion, and we wish him well with his continued research.
